HIGHLIGHT REELS
Effective, Affordable Advertising With Highlight Reels

At Horizon Monster Productions, we use the term "highlight reels" to refer to any video that we can build primarily from existing resources. This can be video, audio, artwork or photographs. Although many people assume that this type of video is only good for performers, athletes or businesses with glamorous, exciting products the highlight reel actually has a number of uses.
To the right is a highlight reel style video we created as part of an overall campaign for a St. Louis hardwood flooring company. This video was used as an introductory piece on their homepage.

As you can see, it mainly uses still photographs (they were not even digital pictures). We added music from our royalty free music library (which is available to all of our clients) and created the graphics. They chose to host it as a Flash object for their website but the original is a broadcast quality digital video that could be used on a DVD or even shown on television.

This type of video allows you to show your prospective clients exactly what you have to offer without forcing them to read through your brochures or website.

The advantage of the highlight reel is twofold. It allows you to show your audience real footage or pictures of your goods and services, which is a tremendous opportunity. It also allows you to create video advertising in a cost-effective manner because the footage and stills already exist.
