Video Project Types


At Horizon Monster Productions, we create a variety of video projects. Our clients include athletes, families, businesses and performers and we do everything from recording live events to creating highlight reels. Even though every project is unique, we find that they fall into four basic categories:

LIVE EVENTS This is fairly self explanatory. Performances, sporting events, business meetings and speeches all fall into this category.

DEMONSTRATIONS When footage is shot specifically to explain how something works or provide an example of its quality, it falls into this category. Examples of demonstrations include instructional video and performances recorded specifically as a video audition.

HIGHLIGHT REELS This is a video showcasing past performances or achievements. This is a popular type of video for athletes and performers. It can also be used by certain promote certain products and businesses. Because these projects are usually created from existing footage, they tend to be cheaper than other productions. PROMOTIONAL This is a bit of a catch all category. Promo films are basically commercials and can, depending on the theme, incorporate elements found in both Highlight Reels and Demonstrations. Music videos also fall into this category.

Knowing what type of video you need will help you communicate your goals to us. It also allows us to make an accurate estimate for you. Of course, it will also help if you have an idea which format(s) your final project requires.
