What Is A Video Resume?
A video resume is a short video presentation that allows you to introduce yourself to potential employers. This gives them a chance to see how effectively you communicate and how you present yourself. Although they are referred to as video resumes it is probably more accurate to describe them as a video cover letter. This type of video is only meant to be a short introduction that sets you apart from other applicants. It should not exceed two minutes so you should not give an entire example sales presentation. Do I Need A Video Resume? Honestly, probably not. In our experience, this service is not right for everyone. Generally, a video resume works best for people seeking sales positions or other employment that will require a great deal of public speaking, presentations and such. We have also been told that video resumes are helpful when applying for out of town positions. What Is The Video Resume Format? The actual video can be in almost any format. If you want to be able to copy your own CD-roms or email your video, the basic package is best for you. For an additional fee, we can author a DVD for you that includes your video, an onscreen slideshow of your resume, references and other documents as well as downloadable PDFs of your relevant documents. How Much Does It Cost? Where Do I Have To Go? We will come to you to shoot your video resume using our portable backgrounds or a room in your home. Shooting and editing your video resume starts at only $75. Add $50 for DVD authoring. Horizon Monster Productions is only available to shoot individual video resumes in the great St. Louis metropolitan area (on both sides of the river). We offer discounts to groups who are interested in having multiple video resumes shot in a day. Please contact us to learn more. |
